On Wednesday morning, bright and early, I will be setting off with my boyfriend Sam and good friend Caroline in the direction of Croatia. We’re hitch-hiking and we’re doing it for charity…so please, god, if you see us on the side of a road, soaking wet and sun burnt in some middle-of-nowhere layby deep in the heart of Slovenia…pick us up!

On the subject of spontaneous decisions, I also agreed a little while back to help organise an Oxjam event- music raising money for Oxfam. The date is approaching. November 4th. It’s at the O2 Academy in Oxford. It’s going to be much bigger than I thought. Wish us luck…

So, being a little prone to spontaneous decisions, I’ve signed up to hitch-hike to Croatia for charity. It’s not till March, and already I’m bricking it. I’m also ridiculously excited so at least the fear is balanced out. The picture below is of me wearing my hitching t-shirt. I’ve been wearing it all day.
I’ll keep you posted on the details and the journey.

Returned from a sunny week sailing in Greece. Sam and I planned to go on holiday and a beautiful free one snuck up on us with my parents, and within weeks we were holidaying on a yacht. A far cry from the camping or cheap hotel option we had envisioned.
We saw Abba islands and tempestuous seas. Ate in sweet little beach restaurants and rowed a rickety boat to shores. It was a good holiday.
Went to Centre Parcs in Holland as a tag-along for a family holiday. It was great fun- we watched ducks rape each other whilst we ate lunch outside, walked in the blazing sunshine to the snow dome where we spent a surreal day snowboarding on real snow and tried to teach my four year-old sister Tilly that it’s Holland, not ‘Hossland’.
We drove there which took around 8 hours (including a two hour ferry trip) and saw us roaming through England, France, Belgium and ‘Hossland’ in one day. Impressive.
Its only April and you could say I’ve been to five foreign countries (Italy, USA, France, Belgium and Holland). Gonna see this whole world one day.

My friends and I have been entertaining ideas of shooting round Europe this summer. Laura will motorbike with Hannah, and I’ll take my car with the others. We’ll see Paris and Pisa, Vienna and Venice, Budapest and Brugge. We’ll camp on the sides of roads to save money and drive with the windows down. We’ve drawn a map of places we want to see. We’ve searched petrol and ferry costs. We’ve considered the logistics of packing my tiny car with four people and luggage.
I’ll keep you posted.

One of the weirdest things for me about living away from home…is the lack of pets. No dog, no cat, not even a little fish to look after.
Been browsing on Gumtree and Craigslist for some free animals, hoping to find a case where I just can’t say no and end up with a little friend to look after…but my head is just too screwed on. Damn.
Seriously looking into getting a fish though.
